Expedition FAQ

What is the mode of transport? - This would be via mini-buses and multi-purpose vehicles, hence transport will be provided two-and-fro directly from the expedition meeting point in Singapore (usually at the Kranji MRT bus stop area) to the final site destination where the beach chalets are. Vehicles are fully air-conditioned.

What is the accommodation? - This would depend on your preference. For the standard trip fees, it would either be twin or triple-sharing (to be allocated on site). But if you prefer single-sharing (room to yourself) you may top up with an additional fee.

How about meals? - Most meals are provided and served buffet styled. Meals are typically muslim cuisine. This applies to Saturday breakfast lunch and dinner, and Sunday breakfast. If you require special meals (eg: vegan, etc), please ask.

Will there be basic astronomy talks held on site? - This can be provided based on demand and situation at hand. If there are many newbies for a particular expedition, it will be most certainly a yes. Otherwise feel free to ask the organizers questions, or any of the astronomy veterans that attend the same trip.

Can I bring a telescope? - You certainly may! In fact it is highly encouraged. However, please notify the organizer the model and make of your optical instrument prior to the trip (during registration).
